Sunrise on the Harbour Arm, Folkestone
A little flashback to Friday's winter sunrise. The top of the Harbour Arm was like an ice rink in places, but just a gorgeous sky. I read an interesting article recently about how the original wooden tenders which acted as a buffer between the ships and the harbour wall, were repurposed into the benches we see now on the Harbour Arm. Nice to think they have been preserved in a such a fashion. The circular benches on the top sit on an octagonal platform which marks the base of a timber hut and mast where flags were once raised to signal to ships..
